The current organisation includes a coordinator for international matters and an internationalisation group with responsibility for international issues. The Arctic Vocational Foundation has a large contact network throughout Europe as well as in Africa. Contact and cooperation with neighbouring countries are an everyday and significant part of our work. We count Sweden, Norway and Finland as our home market, since all three countries make up our catchment area.
The internationalisation of the Nordic countries and growing cross-border mobility make high demands on people’s ability to live with and realise the values in cultural diversity. Social development in an ever-more internationalised world demands knowledge about, understanding of and preparedness for international issues. The Arctic Vocational Foundation has as among its goals to provide all students with an international dimension in their vocational education and to have all employees participating in some way in internationalisation. The purpose of internationalisation work is to facilitate the meeting with and understanding of different cultures and enhance the employability of our students. Companies and the labour market are constantly growing more international and it is an advantage to be able to work in multicultural teams in both one’s own country and abroad.
